This piece comes as shown and measures approx 28.5" x 25.5" x 30 tall. This piece was found in a local Baton Rouge estate that we are clearing for a client (it was his mother's). We were able to trace this piece back to the original owner after deciphering the writing found on the bottom of the two hidden side drawers, which reads DR TIGHE care Barbee & Benjamin, B. We were able to then find several newspaper articles referencing Mr Tighe, including the one shown in our last photo from the Baton Rouge Tri Weekly Gazette & Comet dated Dec 26, 1858.
Incredibly interesting and a nice little pre-civil war piece of furniture. Overall the piece is in good condition. A crack is noted on the top lid and some scrapes and scuffs over all. We do not repair, polish or clean any items prior to sale. No key was found with this piece.
